Projeto CIGALA

CIGALA Project

"Monitoring stations from the network were deployed in the context of the Projects CIGALA and CALIBRA, both funded by the European Commission (EC) in the framework of the FP7-GALILEO-2009-GSA and FP7–GALILEO–2011–GSA–1a, respectively, and FAPESP Project Number 06/04008-2."

The CIGALA Project (Concept for Ionospheric Scintillation Mitigation for Professional GNSS in Latin America), funded by European Commission (EC) in the framework of the FP7-GALILEO-2009-GSA (European GNSS Agency), aimed to analyze the ionospheric scintillation effects, to know its causes and to develop new approaches to be implanted in multi-frequency GNSS receivers. The team was composed by members of several institutes of Europe and Brazil, in wich was included the FCT/UNESP.

The CIGALA Project was finalized at february 2012, but the GNSS network implanted keep collecting data. Currently, this network is managed by the Laboratory of Space Geodesy - FCT/UNESP.

A reference must be included in publications that use data from the CIGALA/CALIBRA Network. Suggested insertion:
